1. Chop the onion. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan and fry the onions and ginger for about 5 minutes. 2. Add the remaining ingredients except the cornflour, and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. 3. Mix the cornflour with a little water, and gradually add to the pan, stirring all the time until the sauce reaches the required thickness. 4. Simmer for a further two minutes and then serve. This is delicious served with fried chicken or pork. For a really fast meal, simply pour it over some chicken nuggets. This sauce can be made in advance and frozen.
