Christmas Cookies
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Serves: makes lots of cookies!

Method
1 Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mk 6, 400°F). Mix the dough ingredients to form a smooth dough. You can do this by hand or in a food processor with a dough hook.

2 Roll out the dough to about 1cm thick. Cut out stars using a cookie cutter and place on a baking sheet.

3 Bake for 12 minutes, remove and cool on wire racks.

4 Mix together the topping ingredients and top the cookies with it.


You can flavour the icing with other things if you don't like lemon.

Recipe Ingredients
Dough:
125g Butter
125g Granulated Sugar
juice from half a Lemon
pinch Ground Cinnamon
pinch Ground Cloves
pinch Ground Nutmeg
230g Flour (plain)
100g Ground Hazlenuts
Topping:
120g Icing Sugar
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 tablespoon Water
