Mediterranean Vegetables With Chicken

This recipe is suitable from 4 months.

1) Heat the olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, courgette, mushroom, red pepper and rosemary and fry until soft. About 5 minutes.

2) Meanwhile, if using a plum tomato, skin and seed it;place the tomato in a heat-proof bowl, pour over boiling water to cover and leave to stand for 1 minute. Drain, then pour over cold water to cover. Drain again, then use a sharp knife to peel away the skin. To seed. cut into quarters and simply scrape away the seeds.

3) Add the tomato or tomato puree, potato, chicken, peas and water to the fried vegetables. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring from time to time.

4) Puree by pushing through a sieve or by using a liquidizer. For a thinner consistency, add a little more water.

Suitable for those intolerant to gluten, milk and lactose.

General Advice for from 4 months recipes :

  • The key to good weaning is to keep it simple, using few ingredient combinations.
  • This helps in finding out what your baby likes and whether he or she may be allergic to particular ingredients.
  • Organically grown ingredients are best if you can get them. Your local supermarket should be able to supply a good range of organic produce.
  • When making your own food, DO NOT ADD ANY SUGAR OR SALT AT ANY STAGE.

    1 tablespoon Chicken
    (breast or thigh, chopped)
    1 Potato
    (peeled and chopped)
    125 ml Water
    2 teaspoons Peas
    (fresh or frozen)
    1 Potato
    (peeled and chopped)
    1 pinch Fresh Rosemary
    (finely chopped)
    1 teaspoon Olive Oil
    1 small strip Red Pepper
    1 Mushroom
    ¼ Courgette
    (peeled and chopped)
    1 Large Carrot
    (peeled and chopped)
    ½ Small Onion
